Matt Sevier is an accomplished singer, songwriter, and guitarist who received his first radio play at the age of 18, and has since opened concerts for legendary musicians such as Jackson Browne, The Band, Blue Oyster Cult, The Guess Who, Hootie and the Blowfish, the Roots, and many others. His first CD “Faultlines” received positive mentions in Billboard magazine and the clever, melodic single “Marry Katherine” received generous air play, shooting to #1 on Philadelphia’s influential WXPN FM. His next recording was funded by Elektra records but Sevier finally signed with Sony Music. However with no recording or tour support from Sony, the deal proved to be less lucrative than expected. Disillusioned with his Sony experience, Sevier has since focused on his successful live performing career, which has included overlapping turns as a solo troubadour, rock bandleader, lead guitarist in a high-energy mid-Atlantic show band, Rock School teacher, and lead singer for the East Coast’s premier Steely Dan tribute band. Sevier’s latest CD “Visitations” won him Best Album and Best Songwriter at the 2019 WSTW FM Hometown Heroes awards, and includes another batch of thoughtful, inspired alternative folk rock. Currently residing in the Cleveland, Ohio area, Sevier continues to write, perform, and entertain both solo and with a full band, and has a new album in the works for release later this year.
